The pretty village of Wrington is within walking distance of Lower Stock Farm. It has a all weather bowling green, tennis courts, local shops, pubs and a variety of restaurants. The village is famed for being the birthplace of philosopher John Locke (1632-1704), and locally renowned poet and playwright Hannah More (1745-1833), who is buried in the village churchyard.

The village of Churchill, a mere 10–minute drive from Lower Stock Farm, is home to The Action Centre (with a dry ski slope, mountain boarding facilities, the Mendip Riding Stables and many local golf courses).

No more than a 20–minute drive away is Cheddar Gorge and Caves, Wookey Hole Caves, Tynesfield National Trust (a spectacular Victorian National Trust country house) Chew Valley, Blagdon Lakes, Cadbury Garden and Leisure Centre, and Blagdon Water Gardens.

The popular, traditional English seaside resort of Weston–super–Mare is only a 30–minute drive away. Its many attractions include the stunning Grand Pier, Sealife Centre, The Playhouse Theatre, The Sovereign Centre Shopping Precinct, an Odeon Cinema, and many pubs, nightclubs and restaurants.

Further afield is the beautiful The city of Wells, and the town of Glastonbury famous for its Tor. Bristol and Bath are close enough to enjoy a day trip.

For those who wish to stay within the vicinity of Lower Stock Farm, there are many nature trails and walks on the farm, ideal for those interested in wildlife, nature and bird watching. The Mendip Hills and Quantock Hills are close by for rambling.
